I live at the corner of Crazy Artist Person and Out of My Mind WoodTurner. So, when the black support columns for the front porch began screaming for something other than black, here is what I came up with. A couple of split turned "cigars", some milk paint, carving, woodburning ... and voila! decoration to dress up the front porch. I had originally planned for 2 such splt turnings on each face of the square pillars (except for the one face where the downspout is), but, with the winter weather approaching, I just finished these and will leave the others till spring.

I think we live kitty corner from each other, it looks like your house faces Crazy Artist Person while mine faces a back alley.
