This website, which I've mentioned in other recent threads, has so much good info. In this post, Dr. Larrin Thomas explains how powder metal alloys are made. I think we've all understood it at the most basic level, but here he offers a better understanding.

I didn't post this to encourage debate, but rather just to show how the steels are made.
