Big mushroom?

Let the shavings improve the humidity in the house for a couple of days - tale I tell my wife - then you can roll big doobies with them and newspaper to get the fire going at night.

Unless it's elm you're turning.

Hi Guys
Dario, Yes that is a VB under the shavings, good eye.
Andy Holt, the flat work in the photo is a segmented Bowl waiting to happen.
S Clark , The curved toolrest is homemade. I am a pipe welder by trade and made that toolrest from a 10" carbon steel pipe, welded it to a piece of the correct size rod for the post, works good inside and outside.
I hope you all enjoyed the photo, The wood is maple, I finished roughing it out , sealed it and put it up to dry. Might be dry in a couple of years.
Mike, like your idea about firelighters, please tell me why Elm would not work, does it not burn to well?.

I meant you don't allow elm to humidify the house. It's a bit out of the ordinary as a sachet fragrance. Cherry, on the other hand, or maple which is just beginning to ferment, with that wonderful wine scent, is a pleasure.

California Nutmeg is another excellent sachet. My wife saved the shavings to sprinkles some into shipping cartons. Always pleasant to open such a package.
