Our Golden loved to chew wood. One day she first chewed my glove and then I hear her gagging and making all kinds of noise. I put her in the van and hustle to the vet's. In the waiting room a nurse gets her mouth open, and notices a piece of a twig wedged sideways between the molars on both sides. The nurse pops it out and all is great. I would have sworn she was gagging on the glove parts!!!

Our golden has done the same thing, only I was watching him chewing on a branch so I knew what had happened. Soon as I got the piece of stick out, he went right back to chewing the branch.

Well, I don't have pets any more other than the squirrels and birds in the yard. My best friend has 2 pit bulls, the younger one is almost 1 year old. I am convinced that dogs are part rodent. The things the younger one chews on are astounding! This does not include their plastic, or what ever they are made of, chew toys....
