African mahogany (khaya) raised cake platter. 14" x 4" Finished with Acks and Odies. A great deal of chatoyance is present in this piece. I've included a short video clip.

Very nice, how heavy is it? The shape surprised as I was expecting to see a spindle and base.
It weighs a bit over a pound. I chose the solid base design to help eliminate tipping when cutting/serving.
I turned this walnut cake stand a few months ago for a cake maker. It is made from 3 pieces. She was worried about the strength as some wedding cakes can weight 40 pounds. So I stood on it to test the strength and the deal was done.
