Rikon Lathe Blue paint match??

Hi all... I have A Rikon 70-220VSR... I would love to find a color match for the blue...Like a Rustolium or color code match... Anybody try??? I posted to other group...basiclly was told to take a piece off and take to store.... Any help would be great!!
 
Paint it what you want. John Deere green and yellow? Saw a young lady at a demo who had flowers all over her lathe base.

Pantone crosses to these nearby colors: 7685 C and 7686 C (go here: https://codebeautify.org/hex-to-pantone-converter and enter 32527B)

It's hard to get a color match off that sort of finish since it has a light and dark pebbly look.

I took all the information off the pages you gave to a local ACE and they just gave me a dead stare! haha! They said none of the numbers is what they needed to mix a paint.. They also tried scanning a piece I brought and it came up with error "no color match found"! They said they never had that code before... I a going to a HD or Lowes and try there... Quest goes on!
 
FWIW, when I was a kid back in the 50s, Candy Apple Red was the craze. Needs black pinstripes. Lowe's or HD might help. Have you been to one of the specialty paint stores as PIttsburgh, Porter, etc.? Automotive paint shop or body shop?

I think you might get the same blank look from the big box clerks. It's been quite awhile since I bought paint and I just pciked a chip with blue on it and said this color. So maybe things have changed.

Otherwise, unless you live in a big city there's probably little chance of finding a paint shop that can mix to specific pantone numbers. That's usually in the realm of real print shops (as opposed to copier shops) who're mixing inks and setting up color lithos. myperfectcolor can do the paint and probably https://customcolormatch.com/.

Look around locally for someone who does the computerized color matching (independent multi paint brand store (or maybe even big boxes, now)) might be able to lift the color from an enlarged picture of your lathe on your phone. I read some of the marketing blah blah on web sites for a few paint shops who can and that usually boasts of being able to grab the color from teddy bears, coffee cups, etc. , so fitting a phone into it probably wouldn't be an issue. You might need to play with the brightness to get just the right shade, though.
 
I just got back from Home Depot getting my blueish green Jet bandsaw paint. I'm adding a riser block but they currently only come in white. I took the upper door off the bandsaw and off to Home Depot i go. It took a few tries but they got the computer to register the color. They have paint sample cans that are about a half pint that they can do the custom coloring. They run about $5.00. I went with the semi-gloss but they were available in all the different glosses. (is glosses a word?) If you just need a small amount of paint for touch ups, this is a great option.

I thought home depot can only mix water based paints.
 
The paint was a semi-gloss enamel. I'm pretty sure it's a water based paint because it dried pretty quickly. I painted the riser block and installed it this afternoon. I think they got the paint matched pretty good. I may spray paint the blade guard black sometime in the future. Right now, it's not really bothering me too much.

I'd love to know how it holds up. Oil based paints are more common and durable for metal surfaces.
 
It's on the riser post of the bandsaw so I don't expect it to get a lot of wear. It was just for looks and shouldn't be subject to a lot of abrasion or impacts.
