I attended the Rocky Mountain Woodturning Symposium in Loveland this past weekend, and it was a terrific 3 days. Every demonstration I went to was excellent, and the whole affair was very well run, as always.
Our very own Dave Landers was one of the demonstrators, and darned if he didn't do a really nice job, too. He showed us how to make Kuksa, which are 4" handled Scandinavian hiker cups--like wooden Sierra cups if you know what that is. Unfortunately, someone suggested I now need to make Kuksas as 'thank yous' for the 30 volunteers who participated in our trail maintenance projects this year.
Dave showed his personal Kuksa, which after years of use is both highly flammable and permanently sanitized with grain based preservatives. Thank you, Dave! Well done!
