I just booked my room for the AAW Symposium, and it appears they still have rooms available at the Hilton for the $119/night (+tax) price for AAW Symposium participants.

Thought others might be able to use this datapoint if they have not yet arranged accommodations.

Hotels in Hartford

Rob:

That helpful information. Several friends and I have booked rooms at the Sheraton East Hartford for $79. The phone number is: 860-528-9703.

It's on the opposite side of the river at 100 East River Drive and is supposed to be about a 1-mile walk. If anyone is interested, call the hotel directly and don't let them send you to Sheraton's central reservations. You have to talk to a local reservations clerk in the hotel and mention the manager's special for the AAW.

I don't know if this is a good location or not. I don't mind walking a mile each way if I can save lots of cash that I can use on more tools!

The Sheraton East Hartford isright across the river from the convention center. If you walk acoss their parking lot, you will find a pedestrian foot bridge that takes you across the river to Constitution Plaza. THe plaza is suppsed to connect to the convetion center eventually...no word on the definite date...you cross the river and there are stairs or an elevator down to Constitution Blvd...walk south 2 blocks and you are at the Convention Center front door. Please e-mail mail me directly at rickmeier@cox.net if you have other questions re downtown Hartford...
