After 38 years of turning, I thought I saw every cut imaginable! SRG as a skew, beader ..etc.

Interesting tool use, very skillful. I've never seen that before, nor ever thought of trying something like that. But in a way, not surprising. He seems to be using the wing like a bedan. I think the SRG may be the unsung hero of spindle work.
