I haven't see any information about Bert's passing so I will post the sad news here. Bert Marsh sadly passed away 22 May following a heart operation. Anyone who knew him will tell you what a great guy he was and he will be greatly missed. His work is outstanding and was a big influence on me becoming a woodturner.
My condolences go to his family.

Sad new indeed Alan,

Thanks for letting us know.

I have a special place in my heart for Bert. His was the first demo I ever attended. It was at Cleveland State University, and I believe it was set up by Gene Kangas.

Bert was a wonderful and funny man, not to mention his amazing talent as a woodturner. His work has been a real inspiration to me, and I am sure countless others.

It is said the we stand on the shoulders of giants. Bert is and was one to me.

The man may be gone, but his work and my memories of him live on.

Best wishes to his friends and family in this difficult time.

David Peebles
