salt shaker

Depends on the salt. I made a plastic top for a small 50ml glass flask as a novelty salt shaker many years ago. We’ve been using it ever since. We use Himalayan Pink Salt and after a bit of trial and error I found I needed a 1/8” hole to stop it getting blocked.

This set that was made in 1988 has 1/16" or 1.6mm holes and at the time they were used with the common Morton granulated salt and pre ground pepper.
