I use the indexing wheel on my Oneway 2436 quite often to lay out patterns for decorative work. The wheel has 64 well-marked positions but has no cursor to support reliable selection of any desired position. My simple solution is shown in the following illustration. A plastic card (room key, old credit card, etc) is cut as shown and is held down with a fairly strong disk magnet. When not in use, the pointer is affixed upside down on an out-of-way spot on the headstock and secured with the magnet.
