Hi,
I am from Edmonton , Alberta , Canada, 53 yrs old. I have been turning for a little over 5 yrs. as a hobby. I stumbled into turning purely by accident. I had the crazy idea to build a Maloof inspired rocker not realizing I needed a lathe for the font legs. I started out on a General midi that crapped out on the first leg panicked bought my Nova 1642 and the rest is history. I fell into the turning black hole and couldn't be happier. I've been a Boilermaker for 35 yrs. have a great wife and one Engineering daughter.

Welcome Stan!
You're not to far (I'm Guessing) from Portland, OR. Are you going to try to make it to the Symposium next month?
