I just got a 1.5 inch 8tpi insert for my stronghold chuck and i cannot remove the existing one. There are two alan screws that i removed, but in the other two holes, there are no screws whatsoever (and no internal threading). i dont think the insert twists off as my new insert has no external threading. does it pry off? i tried that too. anyone who knows your help is appriciated!

Per the Oneway instructions:

1) Remove the two tightening screws and thread them into the two tapped holes of the adaptor (the two holes that did not previously have the screws). They now become jack screws.

2) Carefully tighten alternately until the adaptor pops loose from the taper.

I hope that helps.

As a side note, when reinserting, tighten it down and put it back on the lathe. If it wobbles at all on the front, note which side sticks out further and tighten that screw some more. You can get the run out real low if you put a dial indicator on the front with a magnetic base on the lathe bed.
