Summer 2008 forum contest, patterned after the "Turned for Use II" photo display shown on page 1-3 of the Summer 2008 Vol 23 No 2 edition of American Woodturner.

Turned for Use!

The rules are real simple:
Item must have been turned between 5/1/2008 and July 2nd 2008. (Well, late posting, but if you have the magazine, you knew what the contest was already anyway).
Each forum member is limited to one entry, but may post up to two photos of it. The entry must be turned by the person posting the photos. If you don't know how, ask.
You do not have to be an AAW member but we would like it if you were and you have to buy the journal to get the article anyway.
It must be made of wood and whatever else to make it useful. I suppose the use should be obvious, but you may have to tell us if it isn't

It must be under 18" in diameter and spindle work up to 36" long.
DEADLINE is July 2nd, 2008, midnight GMT

You must upload the photos to the gallery with the title of
Summer 2008 contest

I will do my best to get yet another well known "celebrity" judge with impeccable taste, tact and abilities. Based on what I think will be more entries than ever before, I can't guarantee that each entry will get a critique this time.

Use my mantra, wood is a medium and the lathe is a tool, then use your imagination and make something special for all the world to see!
