Surprise Grain in Honey Locust

I had this (honey locust IMO) in the garage for at least 25 years so decide to make a platter. It is about 12” and ¾”. The gain pattern was not (to me) that visible before turning and I did not expect it to have this grain. I “remade the board to show original what I am guessing now was the branch section close to the main truck. Finished with three coats of tried and true oil.
