SWAT

Wish I was. A friend offered me a free pass, but I couldn't find a hotel room or decent flight connections.

Swat was terrific! New segmenting concepts from Jerry Bennett, hanging with Jerry and Peggy Bennett again after about five years of time was pleasure personified. Seeing all my friends from years of AAW Symposia was simply perfect! It quickly became a duh moment; as I was hanging with Michael Anderson; I realized that one of my favorite things to do…hanging with the great family that the Woodturning community has become could be done twice a year…almost everyone was there!! Steve Bonny and Al Miotke tried their best to contain me but as usual, I sucked them into my vortex of nonsensical fun…what a great weekend!! I highly recommend it!!

SWAT was awesome! I bought a couple of cool things, got to reconnect with a bunch of friends, go to meet a bunch of folks in-person for the first time, and saw some cool demos/presentations (highlight for me was Jerry Bennett's two presentations). Everyone talked so highly of SWAT, and I wasn't disappointed in the least. I'm hoping to make the trip again next year. See you all there!

Hey Michael, Nice to meet you there in person. Hopefully see you again there next year!

Yes it was a great show. Got to meet Michael and I will say he looks younger in person . 😉
I even finally had a winning ticket in raffle. Got a box full of acrylic blanks and I just don't do pens , Guess I will now.

How well "stocked" was the vendor area at SWAT as compared to AAW?
Someone who will go unnamed spent more money there than at St Paul or Portland! I had an interesting conversation with Doug Thompson regarding the retirement of many of our favorite vendors and the voids that ultimately creates…now that was an eye opener…things you don’t think about!! Gulp!!

😂 😂 and I almost didn’t recognize you with the mustache. Congrats on winning the pen supplies. It was a nice break from that one guy who won like 4 times.
Speaking of the raffle, I found it really odd the way it was run. Everything pooled together, including all of the art pieces.
