The switch on my Delta 46-541P lathe quit.
Anyone know of a good replacement for the Furnas 12BA21T switch?

Re: Replacement switch

Thanks Ken.
I located a OEM switch but it was listed at $86.50 plus shipping.

Went to local hardware and found a 30-amp single-pole, double throw switch for less than $20.
Toggle switch instead of the push button, but it works.

Did find an alternative magnetic switch at Grizzly website.
May wind up going that route later.

My guess is that the OEM switch is a safety cutoff type, with a magnetic relay that toggles to off at a power failure. Good thing for a tablesaw, and probably for a lathe too.
If you ever have a power outage during a turning session, just be sure to turn the switch off right away--especially with a heavy, out-of-balance piece of wood on the lathe.
