Hi there Everyone,
OK! My wife and I have started to get close to figuring out the vacation schedule. Looks like I will be able to make the Symposium for a couple of days after all. Now the question is, with the four hotels filled this early - How many people are there going to be at the Symposium? Is this going to be another huge event and the rooms filled to over flowing?

Hi Hugh,

We think we might have around 2100 registered for sessions at Richmond
1875 at Louisville 1670 at Portland

We have 15 demo rooms with over 2550 chairs.
We are pretty well set for up to 2300 attendees.

Below is one prediction based on the distance members live from the symposium and the percent that will attend from those distances.
We compute the percent of 2005 members living in a distance interval who attended Louisville.
then we determine the AAW members representing that percentage in the distance interval from Richmond based on the the AAW membership Jan 2008.

For example 23% of the AAW members living from 200 to 400 miles from Louisville attended the sympsoium.
521 is 23% of the AAW members living 200 to 400 miles from Richmond.

interval --- Louisville--- Richmond est
<200 ----- 41% ---- 494
200-400 --- 23% ---- 521
400-600 --- 18% ---- 378
600-900 --- 13% ---- 300
>900 ------ 6% ---- 305
unk ------- 2% ---- 222

Total 2220 17% of membership

See you in Richmond,
Al

Al,
Thanks for the info. That is what I was looking for. Actually better than I had been looking for. It just sounded like things were filling up quickly and I figured that the number of attendees had to be up there a bit.
See everyone there. What fun!
Hugh
