I'm looking at the Thread Chaser's designed by Mike Mahoney, i.e. the 12 TPI and 16 TPI. Was wondering if anyone has used the 12 TPI and if so you're thoughts on this one vs. the 16TI? Or neither of these?

Depends on the species of wood and diameter of the piece you use. Hard dense wood will work fine with the 16, but courser woods work better with the 12. Chipping short grain is really disheartening since the piece is usually near final stages when you cut the threads.
