Tru-Grind Jig

I received a Tru-Grind jig as a gift from my wife. The instructions included with the jig are some what terse.

I want to extend the wings on my bowl gouge, but the instructions indicate that it is the same settings as for the spindle gouges.

I have gone over Alan Lacer's articles "Learning to Sharpen Progressively", but it doesn't cover the use of jigs.

Is there anyone else out there using the Tru-Grind that can help me out or are there any other articles available?

True-Grind Jig

Just went to a woodworking show this weekend and got a demo of the jig. If I remember correctly, to cut a normal spindle or bowl gouge, align the pivot post almost in line with the tool. For a bevel that creates a lady finger cut, move the pivot post bottom closer to the grinder but keep the tool (and bevel) at the same same angle with the wheel. Now you have an angle with the post and tool. As you rotate the tool it will cut more around the tool side. Make sense? Try it and you will see the difference.
