Once again, it is my honor to pick the TOTW. It is not something I take lightly or randomly. As an Admin for the forum, I'm always looking around. When I see something that I really like, I make a note in a little book I keep next to my favorite chair, where I watch TV, work on my articles, and surf around the forum. Sometimes, it is not a surprise when someone else picks an item from my list. This week's TOTW was an easy pick for me. I made a note on the day they were posted, August 19th. I like to say congratulations to Joe Cornell for "Pine Owl Assemblage - Luminary series" as my pick for TOTW!
The set of lights is outstanding. I can see how much work he put into it. A plus for me is that I love owls. One of my hobbies is looking and trying to photograph the elusive and endangered Hawaiian short-ear owl or Pu'eo. The piercing is done well, and the designs and pyrography are beautiful. I would have been impressed with just one light!

Emiliano - Thank you so much for selecting my Pine Owl Assemblage! I need to acknowledge my local chapter, the Seattle Woodturners. If I had not been involved with our local chapter, I would never have received the gentle nudge that led me to realize how much I enjoy making these luminaries. One theme I hear again and again on this forum goes like this: "My work has a lot of layers - some deeply personal and some just plain frivolous". This is not the right venue for me to go into that but maybe someday maybe I will find the right venue and put it out there.
