Happy New Year everyone! This is coming a couple of days late, but it's kind of neat that it will be my first post of 2025. The piece I chose for this week's feature is certainly worthy of the "first". Kris DeVault's Tri-corner Trifecta bowl is spectacular! It has everything you could want in a turning--interesting design, nice form, and a flawless finish. If you haven't watch the accompanying build video, it's worth the time. It really shows the full effort that went into making this beautiful bowl. Kris mentioned he's not a great turner, but he fooled me with this one. Tri-corner bowls can be a bit challenging to get right, not to mention finishing right. Especially given the varying grain directions, consider me wildly impressed. On top of everything else, the photographs of the bowl are nice.

For all these things and more, it's my pleasure to choose this piece for the first feature of 2025. Congrats, Kris--looking forward to more!

Congratulations, Kris. I only just watched a couple of minutes of your video (will come back later to view the rest). I must say, that is one impressive shop!!!
