Bill Boehme asked me to fill in for him this week. No problem there.
This week I decided to take a short trip back in time to feature a turning that, in my humble opinion, got looked over. @Jaramiah Severns' Stacked Forms II is a striking composition that displays turning talent to the max. There are plenty of examples of hollowforms with natural edges, but not many utilize a natural edge in this capacity. Furthermore, positioning the clean burl edge right beside the small opening gives the appearance that the hollowform is slowly disintegrating into a black hole. I say that because the contrasting Buckeye burl base gives me cosmic vibes. Not only does the base serve a practical function, it is pleasing to the eye (and encourages imagination). I hope to see this one in person some day, but if I don't, the photo still makes me grin. Nice job all around!
