My choice for TOTW for February 3, 2025 is “Southwest Diamonds” by Jim Grieco.

Jim’s open segmented vessel is very impressive at 18” wide. But more importantly it has a pleasing form, and an interesting and very attractive pattern enhanced by the complementary colors with his choice of woods.
I’ve attempted this type of work only once – on a very small and simple piece under the tutelage of an old friend, Bill Smith (an originator of this style) many years ago – so I can really appreciate all the work that Jim has in this piece.

I’m pleased to choose Jim’s piece for his first TOTW. Well done, sir!
