My selection for the turning of the week for July 11, 2022, is Basket Illusion?" by Tom Hale. While Tom seems to question the name, "Basket Illusion?", my opinion is that the name should rightfully be, "Basket Illusion!!!" While making my selection for this week's featured turning, I kept coming back to Tom's post-impressionistic approach to simulating a primitive woven basket. The decorative band is what makes this piece spectacular in my opinion. Congratulations, @Tom Hale, for thinking outside the basket.
