My choice for TOTW for March 2nd, 2026 is “Highly Figured Masur Birch Round Bottom Box” by @Gabriel Hoff.

Gabriel always makes fine looking boxes in different styles. This round bottom style is my favorite! He always pays attention to the little details … nicely curved form and proportions, subtle chamfers at the lid join and at the top edge leading to the dome on the lid. Not always easy to do on a two inch piece of wood. And the gorgeous Masur Birch doesn’t hurt to make this one “little gem” of a box.

Nice choice Tom! Gabriel’s fabulous box work is one thing I never tire of seeing…better said is, the next one is eagerly awaited for!! I have received a Masur Birch one as part of a swap event…the snap fit on the lid continues to snap on every opening!! His work is absolutely “top shelf”!! Well done Gabriel!!
