Choosing the Turning of the Week is not an easy task. When a piece catches my eye, I open it in a new window. Tonight I had 20 candidates!! I shall soon start a new thread to talk about photography. I had some great pieces, but taking a good picture of your work is a big part of the TOTW.
This week's honor goes to Kevin Jesequel's piece: "Figured Oregon Myrtlewood". The design in this beautiful hollow form is as good as it gets. His timber selection was outstanding. And, last, but surely not least, look at the great photo. Perfect gradient neutral color background and just enough light to highlight the work. Congratulations Kevin! Your piece stood out in a very crowded talented field of artists.

Congratulations Kevin. That hollow form is as good a work as anything created by some of the makers who’ve been doing them for 30-plus years. Great choice Emilian!
Thank you, Donna! I certainly stand on the shoulders of giants. Without so many wonderful artists and masters of the craft willing to freely share what they have learned over their lifetimes I might still be in a corner of my garage trying to invent the wheel while everyone else is zipping around in flying cars!
