Cherry Burl by Ted Pelfrey is my selection for turning of the week for September 1, 2025.
The form with its pleasing curve, the wood grain, and the feather ring all come together nicely.

It’s the kind of form I just want to pick up and hold while I examine the feather detail.

The feather design was a nice choice and goes well with this burl.
Just a whole lot I like about this piece.

Congrats, Ted ..... very nice work! Love the form and the rim treatment. Appreciate the credit to Curt Fuller for your inspiration.
Good choice, Al.

Excellent pick!

Ted's work is wonderful, and as mentioned, holding one in the hand is a treat - form, weight, balance, texture, finish, always 1st class.
I'm incredibly fortunate to have one of his pieces in a place of honor in the house. I pick it up and enjoy it often.

When someone visits, I show it and MIGHT let them hold it if I like them a lot. And they put down a deposit first.
