My choice for turning of the week, May 1, 2023, is Dave Roberts' "Arbutus Menzies Burl". His story about harvesting this wood was both interesting and challenging. He turned a beautiful form from green to final thickness, and let the wood do what it was going to do. A wonderful choreography between wood and woodturner. An accent was added with his three carved feet, to give the bowl a lift, just as a dancer would do for their partner at the end of a memorable performance. Thanks, Dave for creating and sharing your fabulous work of art.

Donna thank you so much for your choice and evaluation its very much appreciated. Also thanks to everyone else who took the time to comment. I didn't know this piece was selected till it popped up on social media and I thought I responded then but clearly I didn't and apologize for that. Donna I can add that this piece was juried into the Sooke Fine Art Show this past month and sold the first or second day. The ultimate compliment when someone purchases your work.
