I saw Jean escuelon turn one of these probably 20 years ago. Always wanted to do one. Even built the string steadies about 8 years or so ago. Life always gets in the way. Well I finally did one. Made it from a 36" cherry dowel. I placed it in a plastic tube that's used to protect fluorescent bulbs. It's still.pretty fragile. I may order a plexiglass tube for it. I'm holding off on the purchase because I may turn another out of a larger piece idmf wood so the big elements stand out better.
