Has anyone bought the bare bones short bed and added their own motor combination? If so what motor and controler? Is it more work than it's worth. Thanks Carl.

If you bought the Leeson Motor and ABB controller you will be more than buying a complete lathe from csusa.

I did it a couple of years ago and saved a bundle. The lathe is really excellent. Go over to Dealerselectric.com and pick out an AC controller + 3 phase 2 or 3 horsepower motor. Good luck.
