I just recently made a few premium (very nice) cigar pens with inlace acrylester. The hard clear plastic tube put many scratches in the pen at the largest diameters. OUCH!!!! Every one should be warned of the possibility. The soft vinyl pouches of course do not allow the pen to move around, therefore no scratches.
