it is large enough to do a seed jar. I do these with face grain in the top. Yours would have endgrain on the top.
For 2000 years woodworkers have been hiding end grain. Your blank might have the rare pice with nice looking end grains.

these four are about 7” diameter but these scale nicely and a 5d x 2h will look nice
red gum eucalyptus, poplar with Turkey motife, poplar dyed black, cherry with feather motif.
