When to ‘turn’ pro or start having the hobby pay for itself?

The only things I sold on Etsy, were purchased by my friends that felt sorry for me. Beings I'm going on 60; the stress of "having" to make a certain amount of money; would keep me from pursuing it yet again. When I had items in a local art store, they did very well. Hands on and the feel of the finish was a selling point. Moving to a new location last year; there are no outlets here to sell really. The "craft shows" require a business license and insurance. Maybe I'd be more aggressive if I were younger.
