Ernie Newman (AU) and I are in Samoa on a mission to train young people in woodturning in the aftermath of the tsunami last September. We are making good progress with the new Jet lathes we sent over, but today we are trying to rehab a rusted Woodfast c1000. The drive center and revolving center were both left in the machine for some time and are unwilling to come out using penetrating oil and rather firm persuasion with a hammer.
Does anyone have experience with this lathe that could help us?
Or assembly diagrams - I could not find them on the Woodfast site.

Thanks in advance - internet service here is extremely slow, so I may not respond to all - I do appreciate your input!

If you have the option try adding heat to the parts. That usually works. On the drive center try rotating it as you dry to drive it out. You'll have to lock the spindle to do this. A pipe wrench or vise grips work to try and rotate the piece.

Thanks, John!

I appreciate your reply, John - - the tropical sun must have addled my brain!!
I'll try that today -
