1947 Marblewood.

Completed 5/5/2022. Never seen Marblewood in large sizes, so this one in typical of what's available. Original block was 18% MC and took a total of 7 months to stabilize after roughing w/anchorseal. 5 5/8 x 2, 6.2 oz. Sanded to 600gt, Danish oil natural, Beall 3-step buffed. Small but if you've ever turned bone dry Marblewood, you know how difficult this wood can be to get a clean tear-out free cut. This is a good example of the benefits of "spiritual turning".....in conjunction with everything else in the equation working in your favor...

Odie, it's been quite a few years since I've turned any Marblewood. As I recall, it is very splintery as well as being very hard ..... similar to Wenge. Nice job!

Very nice. I made one Marblewood bowl, about the same size. Really love the way it turned out. It was a gift for a friend, one of those that became increasingly hard to give as it reached completion. Oh well, just have to make another. Really like the look of this wood and, fingers crossed, it does finish up very nice.

Thanks Craig......I appreciate it. :)
