AAW 2012 October Contest

Pierced Bradford pear with blackwood finials.
Nice work Hal, at first I thought this was two shots of the same ornament - but as my coffee started to kick in I realize they were different! What tool are you using for the piercing?

Jim, I used a high speed dental drill for those ornaments. I just bought a NSK Presto, have used it once, and I think I prefer it.

Hal, Thanks. I've been giving serous thought to getting a high speed carver, but have can't decide if it's a desire to carve or just to feed my "tool adiction" but then I look at work like this and I'm thinking I need to explore the process!!

Edward, they are 2.5" x 6.5".

Jim, if you are real interested and do make the jump, you will not be disappointed. Before you do you might want to check out a piercing video. Binh Pho has a good one and Brian McEvoy does too.

Thanks Hal, I'll do that! (Turning videos have taken the place of Clint Eastwood for Friday night entertainment! :) )
