Hula Platter

7.25" walnut platter, with a bleached
and textured rim. Approx 1/8"
thickness. I wanted a grass
skirt look to contrast with the
dark walnut. The rounded
bottom sets the platter into
motion when touched so it is a bit interactive as well. Made
from a board, using the entire
1.125" thickness with a nice grain ripple down the center. Finished
with watco, the smooth areas
buffed to contrast with the
textured part. Fun and challenging
to make. As see in Louisville
IG.
Beautiful Ed! I really like the slight elevation which invites you to take hold and flip it over.
