Ash Bark-edge Bowl

The last chunk from a neighbor's huge tree which was cut down about 15 years ago, which has given me a few nice turnings.
7 1/2" diameter and 5" high. The bark rim is about 5/8" thick, and it thins out to about 7/16" for the rest of the bowl.
One coat of wipe-on polyurethane so far, due for another coat before shipping to Amy in Chula Vista CA.

That's some beautiful color in the grain. I don't see many NE bowls of smaller diameter cut from huge trees; I like the way that cut yields a rim that doesn't "dip" as much as a typical NE. Very nice!

I like it, Ken. It looks like a manly bowl rather some wimpy little thing that you would be afraid to put the peanuts in...Nice work!
