AWI 2011 World Championship Trophy Discs

It has been awhile since I have posted. As you may know, our Aussie Skye is now a Frisbee dog and belongs to the Houston club. At one of our earlier meets this year they asked if I could not turn some for the clubs awards. A little reluctantly, I did so and asked one of our Houston woodturning club member, Ric Taylor, to do a little laser work. We have done a few for the club and they were excited about them. The next thing we knew, we were then asked to do these for the Ashley Whippet Invitational World Championship at Purina Farms in Missouri. Neither Ric nor I could easily ignore their request, so these are the ones done for the top 3 contesting teams in the world championship meet. The team names are derived from the dog names. The other half of the team names (the owners, throwers names) will appear on a silver plaque below the Frisbee awards in a shadow box. Sorry for the picture quality having trouble with my zoom lens images. Need some advice from some of you knowledgeable photographers. Each award is 1 x 10 diameter, out of hard Maple and they can fly when my dog Skye is not looking LOL. Ric and I were pleased to collaborate on this project.
Thanks Mike - I think Ric's laser work really pops these out. The only thing I can think of which might really pop them would be to have Cynthia add her pyrography to these. Now that would be something to behold. Do you ever loan her out? lol

Hal - I hope not too much in demand because that might get a little tedious to say the least. A few a year would be nice. We'll have to just see what comes of this work.
