Camphor Bowler Hat

My first (and probably my last) turned hat. Done at a friends house who has been to study with Johannes Michelson. When I visited and he was doing hats for an upcoming show, I told him I'd never done one. We put a block of camphor on the lathe and with his guidance, here it is. Sized to fit me, I have to say it was a great learning experience. Lots of hours turning but fun. I'll never go near Vicks Vaporub ever again.
very nice, your friend knows how to explain things

Beautiful job and I love the round shape. I should think of making one of these now that my hair is gone from chemo. That would be a classy way of covering it up. Beautiful piece!
