Cherry Post

This is from a Cherry "post" given to me by a friend. It was made by gluing up 1" X 5" boards. I've made several items from it. This is the latest. The HF is 4" W and 3.5" tall. Total height with finial is 6.3" The finial is maple died green with vegetable dye. It is difficult to see in the photo but so much dye was absorbed on end grain that it looks black but if you look closely the shaft which is side grain is green. My apologies for the photo but the grand kids are coming and I'm in a hurry!!
