Mesoamerican Pot

This is my interpretation of a vessel found in an archaeological site in Chiapas, Mexico. Walnut is the wood used. Pyrography, acrylic and fabric dye are the mediums used to add the designs. The spout was turned separately and carved by hand to match the shape of the body of the pot before attaching. The feet were carved by hand from a ring that was turned on the bottom. Dimensions are 6" X 4".
