My 2nd and last chunk of LV from the Panama Canal Railroad. Glad this one made it off the lathe :)
Beautiful Kevin! The wood looks almost like a green Bocote!
The black from the creosote makes it difficult to see the feathery interlocking fibers. But, of the (few) exotics I’ve turned, I’d say Bocote was the closest in terms of density and oiliness.
