Sassafras Eggception

Sassafras, Suriname Ironwood, and Black Cherry. A variation of Al Hockenbery's ball in a ball, the small egg moves around freely, but can't be removed. Large egg finished with satin rattle lacquer, and small egg and pedestal finished with hemp oil. 8.25" tall and 3.25" diameter.

Same thought as Paul-- I knew it was yours from the style but also from the photography which is spot on! Great design and perfect execution. I particularly like your wood choice for the ball.
I will be the first to ask: how'd ya get that ball in there!
 
Thanks a lot everyone!! These egg pieces are pretty fun to make. A lit bit of everything in one package.

@Will Armstrong tue diameter of the small egg is about 0.5-1mm larger than the size of the entrance hole. Little bit of force pops it in the cavity for good!

@Tom Gall thanks! It does add a little bit of strength to tue entrance, but I mostly added it there for the nice shadow line. Iā€™ve made a version that doesnā€™t have any embellishment around the entrance and it just looks too bland. And yep, a magnet In the egg and the pedestal! Love those magnets. šŸ˜ƒ
