Eyepod #2

Eyepod #2

Number 2 in a series I'm exploring. Carved big leaf maple burl, airbrush colors. Fun.
Mike, another innovative piece...nice. This kinda looks like a peapod to me. I think you've watched too many sci-fi movies like Invasion of the Body Snatchers (which had pods).

How long does it take to carve something like this? Also what are the rough dimensions?

Thank you two. Jeff, how long? Off and on, a few hours at a time, I'd say it took, hmmm...15-20 hours. Sanding is additional and quite a few more hours to get it to 400 grit. Painting took an additional 5 or 6 because I'm not very good at the eyes, and repainted them a few times. Overall length on this is about 6".
