Food For Thought

Food For Thought

This lidded form is a development of my other lidded work. I wanted a more contemporary item to fit in with interiors over in the UK and an item that I could colour as I liked to suit different tastes.

100mm dia x 280mm high made of ebonized sycamore with an offset lid. Finished in acrylic satin finish spray.

The chilli was used as I liked the colour contrast and form/texture as as I get my inspiration from all around I though"Food For Thought" was a suitable title.

The chilli will be replaced by a permanent finial possibly of a similar shape and colour.

Comments welcome

I agree with James. Keep the chili~
The piece is very graceful. The chili adds a touch of whimsy without detracting from the overall elegance. I like the balance its mounting adds to the piece.

Mark,

I agree too. Keep the chili unless you plan on making one that's more abstract and let the viewer decide if it's a chili or something else. What you've done grabs your eye and fits in well with the rest of the piece. Excellent work!

very nice, what ever you decide on the chilli but keep the offset

Hi All

Thank you very much for you comments. When I came up with the idea I obviously liked it but then it is easy to like ones own ideas. It has given me many more ideas but I will keep the offset for sure.

Thank you all again very much for taking the time to comment.

Take care

Mark
