Glide

One of my entries for the Currents exhibit.
The "pods" are shallow bowls glued together and then cut apart on the bandsaw. They were reglued with shaped and pierced compwood ("seaweed? waves?") between the sections. The tops of the pods were scooped out and epoxy poured in the opening. Everything is either dyed or painted with a airbrush. Needed 3 or 4 hands to align everything when I applied the glue.

It was difficult to photograph to see everything correctly. Hope you can make sense of it.

Dyed figured maple, dyed compwood, painted poplar, epoxy, imitation gold leaf
