Green cherry

Green cherry

A neighbor gave me a large cherry chunk. When I split the piece open there was a lot of rot which I cleaned out the best I could. I treated both ends with sealer and finally turned it this weekend. Sanded to 180 grit and finished with walnut oil. The shavings were quite dry so I'm hoping for minimal warping. It's just shy of 9" diameter and 3" tall. I haven't decided what to try with the other half. That big divot screams for resin which I have not tried (yet).
